Russ Padden has supplied us with a variety of vintage photos from the 1960s. Here's a photo of Katonah Troop 1, posed in front of the Camp Buckskin dining hall at Curtis S. Read Scout Reservation... 1964! "Our campsite was the first one on the left after you walked past the dining hall - with the hall on your right," Russ explains. "One of the greatest memories was cllimbing a 'mountain' and picking blueberries which they made into Blueberry pie...I always suspected they 'supplemented' what we picked." Left to right in the front row are Walt Swartz, Craig Warner, Chris Farrell, Chuck Senkier, Doug Kitchen, Jim Peterson, Russ Padden and Paul Leather. In the back row are Dick L'Eplattenier, Scoutmaster Arthur Peterson and Eric Larson. The troop had spent two weeks at Camp Read in 1964, and Troop 1 will be returning to Camp Read once again this summer . Also from the collection of Russ Padden is his shadowbox documenting his time in the Troo...
