Troop 1 Katonah, New York

Just because school is out doesn't mean our Scouts are idle! Scouts and adult leaders from Troop 1 Katonah participated in the July 10 Mianus River Gorge Cleanup Day at the Mianus River Gorge Preserve in Bedford. Our Scouts patrolled the riverbed and removed a full truck load of garbage, tires, sofas, motors, golf balls and more. Katonah Troop 1 enjoyed its 54th year on the Saco River during the annual Maine Canoe Trip. Using the cabin that former Scoutmaster Doc Smith left to our troop as a base, we enjoyed a two day overnight trip that started in New Hampshire and ended on Lovell's Pond in Fryeburg, Maine. The Mad Monkeys Patrol was the winner of this year's contest, and everyone had a great time as usual. Here are just a few photos from the weekend by Asst. Scoutmaster Otto Vondrak... Asst.
