June Court of Honor Photos

The special neckerchiefs we had commissioned to celebrate our 90th anniversary. These neckerchiefs are awarded to every Scout who earns the rank of First Class. June whitewater rafting adventure

On June 12, Troop 1 Katonah went on a exciting white water rafting trip in Pennsylvania. We departed form KES at 7:00am, and we arrived in Jim Thorpe, PA around 9:30am. Once there, we made our way to the check-in center, where we rented our wet suits for the day ahead of us. Everything was quite organized, even with so many people in one area. We waited about an hour and a half before lining up to receive our life jackets, and boarding passes (luckily which nobody lost!). All of the buses were then loaded up, and we took a twenty minute ride to our launch site for the Lehigh River. The guides for the trip assembled all of us in our rafts in the area and went over every detail, and safety regulations of the trip before we entered the water. The contents of the raft included a water-bailing bucket, and a water tight bucket for our lunches. When we entered the water, we soon realized why these people were called the "White Water Challengers." We met many rapid parts of the river

Court of Honor, Last Meeting

Troop 1 Katonah Court of Honor Starts at 7:30pm SHARP K.E.S. Cafeteria Our last meeting of the year will be our Court of Honor. All Scouts should be in full uniform (merit badge sashes are encouraged). Parents and siblings welcome, friends are encouraged to attend as well! Details for the 56th Annual Maine Canoe Trip will be discussed as well.

Board of Review and Whitewater Rafting

BOARD OF REVIEW is taking place on Thursday, June 10. You only have to come if you are going up for rank advancement. Otherwise, ENJOY THE CARNIVAL ! FOR THOSE OF YOU GOING ON THE WHITEWATER RAFTING TRIP... Please see the below important information. Please review this and their website for helpful hints on how to make this the best trip possible for things like what to wear. As stated before, please bring your own lunch in a zip lock bag and some extra cash in case you may like to rent a wetsuit. I have just paid the balance so anyone who can please pay me the remainder for your party, it will be very much appreciated. Driving Directions are on the website. And we have plenty of Drivers!.
