Spring Camporee a Success!

We opened Thurday's meeting outside to take advantage of the nice weather.   Scoutmaster Hank Tschorn goes over what we need to do to get ready for tomorrow's campout. ASM Chris Kristensen looks on at left.   The Senior Patrol Leader dismisses the troop and brings everyone into the gym.   The troop falls in by patrol and gets ready to inspect our camping equipment.         Scoutmaster Hank Tschorn helps new Scouts catalog the contents of their tent.   All tents are opened up and inspected for damage.   We meet at the Katonah Elementary School parking lot on Friday afternoon to load up our gear.    This year's Spring Camporee had the Scouts start the event from Route 301 and hike about a mile and a half into camp.   Scouts start their hike from Route 301.    The adults, on the other hand, had their own challenges to deal with!    Adventure time on Sunken Mine Road!    We set up our camp at Site 53 at Camp Durland (Clear Lake).   Scouts enjoying the campfir

Spring Camporee This Weekend

The Muscoot District Spring Camporee will be held this weekend. We will arrive at Clear Lake between 5:00pm and 6:00pm, and the Scouts will be hiking in to the registration point. All Scouts should have hiking boots with ankle support, and a frame pack that has been packed with the necessary equipment for the weekend. If you're not sure what to bring, please contact your patrol leader. All Scouts should bring their packed pack to Thursday meeting for inspection. We will depart KES on Friday, and return on Sunday morning. Don't forget your registration for Camp Read. Just a reminder that Summer Camp fees are due.  If you pay past 6/1, there is a 25$ penalty increasing the cost to $370.  Adults are still $110 and if you are going, I need that too.  Please give all checks to me made out to Westchester Putnam Council, BSA. Boys cannot be registered for merit badges until this is paid, and some badges close out soon.  Your son was given a Parent’s Guide – this is crucial for you
